FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Because there are no stupid questions and we are here to educate you about dental health, here is a series of frequently asked questions with their answers.
-
Do you accept new patients?Yes of course ! We will be delighted to count you among our loyal patients. Please note that lead times for the very first visit are longer than for patients who have already come to us. We are constantly working to reduce delays but without compromising the quality of our care.
-
How can I make an appointment?By telephone by calling us on 069 480 280 or by email at contact@biodental.be
-
Are you approved? Do you use third-party payment? Our practitioners are exempt from the convention and apply rates approximately 20% higher than the convention rates. We do not practice third-party payment.
-
Why are you unconventional? Our dental office is not a “basic” dental office. We have very expensive sophisticated machines ( see high-tech cabinet ) and we have hired a lot of staff to operate this cabinet. The necessary and essential post-graduate training for our different specialties is also time-consuming and expensive. In order to continue to maintain consistent quality, we pass these costs on to the prices of our care.
-
How do I choose the dentist who will see me?We have a team of practitioners with several specialties. The assistant who will be responsible for registering you in our schedule for a first visit will ask you questions to understand your request and will direct you to the practitioner you need. You should know that the dentists Rémi BOULIER and Bérenger DIOT are two dentists who are exclusively reserved for fixed prostheses, cosmetic dentistry and implantology (they do not practice dental care).
-
I'm trying to call you... but there's no answer!Oh...we're sorry about this situation. Please know that this is not intentional. We receive around a hundred calls per day. It is recommended to call in the morning after 10:30 a.m. and in the afternoon after 3:30 p.m. Sometimes dental assistants are busy with a person at reception or working with a dentist. However, you can leave us a message on the answering machine outside of opening hours, or send us an email at contact@biodental.be. We will try to contact you in return.
-
Do you accept payment by bancontact?Yes, we accept payment by bancontact, VISA, etc.
-
I live quite far away, I come by car, can I park easily?Yes, we chose to move away from the city center to have better accessibility. We have parking reserved for our patients, right in front of the office entrance.
-
I have difficulty moving around, how will this work in your office?Don't worry, our establishment has been designed to accommodate people with reduced mobility. Our team will be there to help you at any time, you can even let us know when making your appointment.
-
During my first visit, will the dentist treat or clean my teeth? In most cases, prophylactic cleaning (scaling) can be carried out at the first visit, unless you prefer not. Prophylactic cleaning is recommended 1-2 times a year. Unless it is urgent, other dental care is scheduled for a later session.
-
I am pregnant, can I come see a dentist?Yes ! It is important for pregnant women to maintain good dental health during this special period. Even if it is preferable to postpone certain care, it is important that the pregnant woman can count on us.
-
How often should I change my toothbrush ?We recommend that our patients change their toothbrush every 3 months. If you have been ill or it is too damaged, do not hesitate to take the lead and change it sooner.
-
Manual toothbrush or electric toothbrush? We believe that it is not the tool that is important but what we do with it. Each case is different and we will be sure to advise you on the solution that suits you best. In summary, both technologies are great when used correctly.
-
Is it going to hurt? The most asked question in a dental office! Please note that for our new generation dentists it is unthinkable to perform treatment without first anesthetizing the area to be treated. The idea that a patient could feel pain in our chairs is unbearable to us. Everything is done to avoid this and for everyone, even for those who are not afraid (yes, it exists!).
-
What causes cavities? We are not going to give you a university course, you might fall asleep in front of your screen. However, our site is full of articles and practical sheets intended for patients. Go take a look, it will make us very happy to know that it was useful to you. And regarding cavities, part of the answer can be found here!
-
I have fillings in my mouth, should I change them?It depends, don't hesitate to read our factsheets and articles on our website, it is full of information. You can also consult our article on old dental amalgam. The best thing is to consult your dentist for a precise diagnosis.
-
My teeth hurt, I need an emergency appointment! If you are being treated by one of our dentists, call us. If you are followed elsewhere, your dentist will be better able to treat the emergency, he already knows you. If you do not or no longer have a dentist, then call us and we will do everything we can to help you. Always seek advice before taking any medication on your own. In case of a life-threatening emergency, dial 112. Know that we are very well placed to understand the suffering during such a situation. We will do everything to be of service to you, but it is not always easy for us to handle the influx of daily emergencies. At Biodental Tournai, we are also here to ensure that this type of situation does not happen.
-
Can I request a quote by email or telephone? No, we take our work very seriously, and it is not serious to provide you with a therapeutic proposal without having examined you and having taken the time to know you. Because each case is different, it is strictly impossible to do such a thing remotely.
